Jam Scsh, Inc. ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Jam Scsh mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
Account information: your name, username and email address. If you sign up with an email address, your password is handled by our authentication provider and we never see it. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address they share with us (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one).
Profile information: what you choose to add — profile photo, bio, roles, favourite genres, instruments and moods, links to your other social accounts, and the location shown on your profile. You can also give your age range and gender; these are kept private.
Content: videos, images, captions, comments, community posts and chats, live streams and live chat, direct messages, booking requests, event RSVPs and applications you submit through the Service.
Activity: how you use the Service — for example the videos you watch and whether you finish or skip them, likes, follows, views, when you were last active, and which screens and features you use.
Location: only when you choose to use a location feature. See section 3.
Purchases, tips and payouts: records of jAmps you buy, tips you send and receive, your balance, and payout requests. Card and bank details are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe, not by us (see section 7).
Device and technical information: device type, operating system and app version, a push-notification token, identifiers our analytics provider assigns to your device, and app-integrity checks that confirm requests come from our genuine app. We use your IP address for security and rate limiting; to detect fake views we store only a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of it.
Age information: on supported Apple devices, if you choose to share it, the age range Apple reports for you (not your date of birth). See section 12.
Referral information: if you join Jam Scsh through an artist's invite link or code, or invite others with your own code, we record the referral: which artist referred you (or whom you referred), the invite code used, and the signup source and platform. We also keep records of promotional jAmp credits granted through these programs and how they are spent.
Safety information: reports you make or that are made about you or your content, accounts you block, moderation decisions and appeals.
Space verification: if you apply to have your venue verified as a Space, we collect a contact phone number and the venue's address.
Messages to us: anything you send us, for example when you email us for support.
Jam Scsh asks for access to your camera and microphone so you can record videos, go live and take profile photos, and to your photo library so you can choose photos and videos to upload and save videos to your device.
We only use these when you choose to use those features. We do not access your camera or microphone in the background.
We only use your location when you use a feature that needs it, and never in the background.
You can turn location access off at any time in your device settings.
We use your information to:
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (running the Service you signed up for); our legitimate interests (personalising your feed, keeping the Service safe, analytics and fraud prevention); your consent (session recording and device permissions such as location, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligations (financial and tax records).
Your profile is public: your name, username, profile photo, bio, roles, genres, instruments, moods, social links, profile location, and your followers and following. So are the videos you post, your comments, public community posts, your live streams and live chat, and event and venue locations you publish. Your email address, age range and gender are not shown to other users. Direct messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, and private community content only to its members.
To help us find bugs and improve the Service, Jam Scsh can record how you use it — the screens you visit and where you tap. These recordings are processed by PostHog.
This is off unless you turn it on. Recording is off by default, and we do not record anything unless you turn it on under Settings → Screen recording. You can switch it off again at any time; switching it off stops recording immediately.
When recording is on:
We use service providers to host, analyse and operate the Service. They process your information only on our behalf and for the purposes below:
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with anyone for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
Our website and app store small amounts of data on your device to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and run analytics (PostHog). We do not use advertising cookies.
Your information is stored with the providers above and may be processed in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires it, transfers from the European Economic Area or the UK rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in our providers' data processing terms.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete your profile, videos, drafts, posts, comments, community content, live streams and recordings, direct messages, notifications and private account details. We also delete your likes, claps and other activity on other people's content, your viewing history and recommendations, and your analytics profile, usage events and session recordings at PostHog.
Some information is kept after deletion:
Recordings of live streams are deleted 14 days after the stream ends.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise these rights, email us at development@jamscsh.com. We will respond within one month. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
You must be at least 13 to use Jam Scsh. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
On Apple devices that support it, we ask Apple for your age range (not your date of birth), and you choose whether to share it. If it shows you are under 13, the app is blocked. If you are under 16, direct messages, live chat, going live, tips, purchases and the wallet are turned off.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
